Sita: Stunning new eco-designer introduces One-of-a-Kind Fabric Blends with Hand-Embroidered Style

Native to California with a strong Indian soul, Sita is Jute and Jackfruit’s newest eco-chic designer with a unique, multi-ethic background. Sita creates beautiful contemporary cuts while using a variety of hand loomed weaves, organic cotton, silks, chiffons, and jute to establish her own innovative eco-chic style. Her often experimental fabric blends are what make her collection so unique and so eco-friendly. They also result in clothing that has a great look, feel and style.

Hand embroidered accents are one of Sita’s strengths, using for example pieces of stone, crystal, jute and wood combined into hand embroidered designs meant to bring the Earth to her pieces’ contemporary cuts and soft fabrics. A good example of this is the embroidered belt around the Sweet and Simple Dress featured below.

Sita‘s clothing is hand crafted, limited edition, made by women artisans and sewers in a few locations across the globe. Many of the hand loomed fabrics that blend in jute for example are made in India. The complex embroidery work is done by women artisans in Indonesia, and most of the garments are sewn together for final perfection by a small group of women sewers in LA under Sita’s close supervision. Sita is a strong supporter of fair labor and women’s empowerment, just like Jute and Jackfruit. What makes her garments so unique though are her cutting edge fabrics, combined with the layered deign detail unparalleled by eco-designers today.

The “Casseopia” dress or top by Sita is one of our favorites, with its beautiful easy blue and cream tones, chic embroidery details, knit bust and mini-ballon bottom it makes you feel wonderful in any occasion!

The “Sweet and Simple” Mini is very sweet, but not so simple! It has gorgeous bead detailing around the waist that appears on first glance to be a jeweled belt styling up the little dress, but is rather beautifully intricate hand woven embroidery. Impressive by any standard!

In addition to their chic outfits, Sita also creates very stylish eco-friendly Hoodie made from all natural Jute, grown without the use of pesticides or harmful chemicals, and organic cotton Tee, such as the one below with beautiful graphic designs.
