“A-line” dresses are dresses that are narrower at the top, widening slowly towards the bottom. The A-line can actually refer to a dress or skirt silhouette as long as it is narrower at the top, flaring gently wider toward the bottom (and thereby resembling the letter A.) Combined with a raised-waist, the A-line shape flatters a majority of body shapes. The A-Line can be perfect to balance bottom-heavy silhouettes because the waist is right under the bust line, this shape shifts attention to the top of your body.
