Spring blooms, warming sun and radiant organic cotton style: Indigenous Designs Reigns in Spring
True to their tradition, Indigenous Designs brings us once again very contemporary, feminine styles for the season with their classic premium organic cotton fabrics, beautiful color palettes and flattering fits. Jute and Jackfruit is excited to introduce a few new pieces that will last throughout the summer and are great for a variety of occasions.
The first outfit (pictured above) in an Ash-white, brings together the soft, feminine Melange Dress paired with the sporty zip Melange Hoodie. Both are made from a premium medium weight organic cotton and Tencel fabric blend. The grey-white color combination will easily transition from Spring to Summer and Fall. These pieces can be paired with another bright color such as salmon, peach, coral, burgundy or your favorite color. Wear them separately or together– to work, weekend, vacation, and more.
The Urban Poncho is a new style for Indigenous but remains true to their Indigenous/ethnic roots. Borrowing from the Latin American “poncho” but bringing in a modern twist, the urban poncho is right in line with what we saw on the runway for this season’s styles– ethnic-inspired collections. Indigenous has tapped right into that trend. This piece layers well over a T-shirt, long-sleeve top, tank top, cami or bra and looks great with denim. The organic cotton poncho falls delicately over one shoulder or can be worn centered across both. In a refreshing “guava” color combination, the poncho gives just the right amount of color burst without being too showy.
The organic cotton Halter Dress in Berry is another stunning eco elegant piece. A perfect A-line dress with an adjustable neckline strap, the dress works for a variety of bust sizes and body types. Made with organic cotton, the fabric has stretch and includes hand-knit tie details at back. The radiant berry color is a good date night choice or for that long stroll along the beach after sunset. Consider this dress for your vacation or travel — very lightweight, folds easily and is set at the unbelievable price of $78.
Indigenous Designs have been pioneers in organic and fair trade clothing for the last 15 years. They are one of the first US companies to offer stylish women’s clothing that is both organic and fair trade. Indigenous has a longstanding commitment to the environment and to the communities in which they work. As pioneers in organic and fair trade textiles, Indigenous is one of the first US apparel companies to invest in fair trade practices beyond worker wages, making a social commitment to not just the artisans but also surrounding communities. As noted by the founders of the company Scotty and Matt, “We take the “Slow” approach to knitting our clothing, focusing on attention to style and detail while embracing organic standards, indigenous traditions and the time honored skills of our artisans”. We appreciate the values and mission of Indigenous Designs here at Jute and Jackfruit and are proud to be carrying their lines
