Prairie Underground Labor Day Weekend Musings: Fall, frolics and fashion

Fall is here–though it was 90+ degrees here in Boston today – so it is VERY hard to believe that Labor Day is just around the bend– but nonetheless we must face the unsatisfying fact that summer is over and fall seemingly a weekend away. Despite global warming (and possible hurricanes rolling in this weekend), AC units will soon be a thing of the past as the bundling season will begin.
The happy notes in this brooding shift are the unparalleled fashion inspirations of the coming months. Fashion is always at its best in fall, but this year 2010 – it seems the eco-collections are truly at their peak: more designers, more collections, more color, more innovation. We cant wait to unravel what’s in store for 2010 for all you eco-fashionistas here in Boston, California, Texas and everywhere. But before we do that, we have a sneak peak at some new Prairie Undergrounds and a big giveaway on the horizon.
Key Fall Fashion trend highlight: big, bulky tops paired with skinny jeans and leggings. Boots a plus.
The above 3 classic Prairie Underground pieces just in (featured above)– are right in line with fall trends. All three can be paired with skinny jeans and / or leggings. Each are in great neutral colors, which wear well with your other favorite color. The pieces will last for seasons. For all the groupies out there too, you know your Prairie pieces are some of our all time favs. Here we have the Prairie Underground Long Cloak Hoodie in Silverleaf, the Cloak Hoodie in Khaki and the Orbit top (now in long sleeve) in Oatmeal.
Personally, I can’t imagine a day without Prairie Underground. What did I do before them? Casual, edgy, fun– extremely wearable (and machine washable!). And what’s more, 100% organic cotton, Made in USA, by two fabulous women in Seattle. As a new mom, with laundry needs (alarmingly high!) I can’t say enough about Prairie’s outfits and their suitability for every stage & day in life (including motherhood!). I am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the rest of the collection to arrive to see what else is in store.
Meanwhile, wishing every one a fabulous Labor Day weekend! Have fun, stay dry (especially if you are on the East Coast) and enjoy! We’ll be in Maine for a brief stint– eating some lobsta and enjoying some cooler weather (hopefully), trees, water, friends and hopefully not too many mosquitos!
