I like fair trades approach to help bring better trading conditions to developing countries as well as how they promote sustainability.
As far as my favorite fair trade product, I love clothes, so I’m gonna go with cotton, lol. Although I also love all the hand made crafts.

AmberMay 27th, 2011 at 12:07 pm

I like fair trade because to me, it makes me feel better about shopping and buying products. FT has helped to ensure that other countries are being treated fairly when their products are made there and sold elsewhere. I love fair trade chocolate, it makes me feel good knowing that the cocoa that I am consuming is morally and ethically conscious. Thanks! :)

CaitieMay 27th, 2011 at 12:11 pm

I like that buying free trade is putting a stop to the exploitation of workers in developing countries and helping them get better work conditions. I think my favorite fair trade product is tea :)

CaitieMay 27th, 2011 at 12:15 pm

eep, that was supposed to say fair trade xD

FaithJMay 27th, 2011 at 12:59 pm

I think fair trade, in and of itself, is an amazing idea and am so glad to see the movement growing, gaining support, and being able to help more and more people around the world. It brings the world closer together by giving first-world consumers a way to support people in developing nations in a respectful and valued way.

Any chocolate that come from fair trade gets my favorite vote!

ShannonMay 27th, 2011 at 3:49 pm

GaleMay 27th, 2011 at 6:57 pm

I love knowing that the products I buy don’t come from Slave Labor. Fair trade chocholate is my favorite (can’t remember brand…but I know it by sight).

I’ll be blogging about this at suchfuntogive.blogspot.com

Mamavalveeta03May 27th, 2011 at 7:12 pm

I love that fair trade gives people a way to sustain themselves. And then, allows girls to attend school, not be taken advantage of, etc.
My husband got our church to switch to fair trade coffee and tea! And we always choose fair trade products at home!

DianaMay 27th, 2011 at 7:22 pm

I love fair trade coffee!

ErinMay 27th, 2011 at 8:29 pm

I think fair trade is important because it prevents hardworking, innocent people from being exploited by greedy companies. My favourite fair trade product is chocolate. In order to indulgence in something so heavenly, it has to come from an ethical source. It usually tastes 100% better too.

StephMay 27th, 2011 at 10:00 pm

i love that fair trade allows for everyone to feel good about purchasing and making – and i love fair trade chocolate!!

AmyMay 27th, 2011 at 11:23 pm

Why do I like fair trade? Because it becomes more about the individual artisan and his/her life work. I like knowing that I’ve bought something from a particular individual or group that will help them in some way.

I like fair trade coffee.

TaylorMay 27th, 2011 at 11:24 pm

fair trade is wonderful because people can work with the enviornment around them and earn what they really deserve. I LOVE fair trade coffee!

i love the simplicity and elegance of the items they make as well as the part that they help out people in need by empowering them rather than just being a charity

I like that fair trade means people get paid fair wages for the work they do. My favorite fair trade produce is chocolate.

carmenMay 28th, 2011 at 5:19 pm

My favorite fair trade product is an organic decaf coffee that Trader Joe’s sells. It has the best of everything! :) The funny thing is that this coffee is only a dollar or two more than the other coffees that aren’t fair-trade. So I like that the money with fair trade products are going to the people who actually made the products, rather than the companies that sell them.

Danielle HoganMay 28th, 2011 at 7:18 pm

One of the things I love the most about Fair Trade is the fact that it helps women, who are more often than not treated like they either don’t exist or are second class citizens, to use their creativity & artistic gifts as a way to not only earn a living but to basically start their own businesses & become the breadwinners for their households. Talk about empowerment! These women are just now getting to see how great it feels to be independent & how great it feels to know that they are an integral part of their communities! Awesome! I love the Fair Trade Home Decor products that are made by these hard working women (i.e.: baskets, clothing, throws, pillows, musical instruments, ornaments, mirrors & rugs) as well as the coffees because I am a closet coffee fanatic! (ha ha) Thank you…

I like how the concept of fair trade raises awareness in more affluent areas of the world, so that even when fair trade may not be a specific option, I still consider how the item was made and where, and how. There’s a big world out there we can affect with our purchasing decisions.

And I love fair trade chocolate!

gustosa giveawaysMay 29th, 2011 at 6:42 am

-i like fair trade jewelry….
-in india its really a tragedy how the people who work and produce the pieces dont get even enough to eat and the big business men take all the the profit and credit.in the end no body know the real person behind the pieces .so i like when fair trade emphasis on these people and they get good value of their creation.
-i liked you post as shadab tahir

I like the fact that by buying free trade products I can feel useful to someone less privileged than myself. I tend to like objects for the home or personal objects, like picture frames, keychains, etc.
Btw, I “liked” you at the Mompreneurs site.

VittoriaMay 30th, 2011 at 11:33 am

I love fair trade because like the USA’s slogan for it– “Every Purchase Matters” –when you buy something you’re doing good. Sometimes it’s hard for people to find a way to make a difference, but shopping is something you already do so why not just do it responsibly? That being said, I love fair trade jewelery because people always ask me about what a I wear and if it’s fair trade, I have a great story to tell about it!

Honestly, I dont know as much about fair trade as I should. Also, who is that girl in your Indigenous Designs banner ad? She is so pretty.

Ginny L.May 30th, 2011 at 10:06 pm

I love that when I buy fair trade I know that the hard work of the person farming or making the product is compensated well for their work. I also know that children are not being exploited. My favorite fair trade product is chocolate with cotton clothing being a close second.

TheoMay 30th, 2011 at 11:04 pm

I love Fair Trade products because they support sustainability in developing countries as well as better working conditions. They are also a wonderful way to honor cultures around the world through artisan craftsmanship and the environment. I am a big fan of Novica – shopped there for a lot of gifts in 2010 and hoping to do so for the 2011 holiday season.

JD NorthwestMay 30th, 2011 at 11:53 pm

I like the impact on local communities, fair trade provides by paying farmers wages that allow them to create sustainable businesses and even to grow them. Taking them from working to get by to working to get ahead.

And coffee is by far my favorite Fair Trade product. Followed closely by Chocolate.

NabihahMay 31st, 2011 at 12:09 am

I love that fair trade supports those that are underprivileged. It creates equality to those that need it most and ensures they have a good quality of life, as they definitely deserve. I’d say fair trade coffee and cocoa would be my favourites – as a drinker of both, I’d like to know that I’m participating in something that’s good for everyone.

coreyMay 31st, 2011 at 1:44 am

chanda kimJune 3rd, 2011 at 11:01 pm

I love fair trade because I don’t believe just donating money helps anyone. I am a big proponent of a hand UP not a hand out. Fair trade gives developing societies a way to develop commerce and trade, not become dependent on aid.

I love fair trade coffee, I find the flavor is better because of the small batches it’s made in

chrisJune 4th, 2011 at 10:06 pm
